Ayer Keroh, 18 Feb 2024 – The highly anticipated Toyota Tour 2024 is set to commence with the Qualifying School Leg 1 taking place at the prestigious Tiara Melaka Golf & Country Club from February 20 to 22. A total of 64 participants, including six talented ladies, have registered for this crucial event.

The primary objective of the tournament is to provide golfers with the opportunity to secure playing rights or earn their tour cards for the 2024 season. With a substantial total prize money of RM20,000, competitors will vie for a chance to advance their careers on the Toyota Tour which is organised by the Professional Golf Malaysia and delivered by MST Golf.

Participants who manage to score 15-over and better will be granted their coveted tour cards, signifying a significant milestone in their professional golf journey.

Notable among the participants is former top amateur Malcolm Ting, who made waves by representing Asia against Europe in the Bonallack Trophy held in Spain last year. Ting continued to showcase his prowess at the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in Melbourne before making the transition to the professional ranks in October. Ting recently was selected as one of four golf ambassadors for Kelab Golf Seri Selangor.

The diverse field comprises 58 men, including 17 professionals and 41 amateurs, promising an exciting and competitive tournament. Golf enthusiasts and supporters are invited to witness the thrilling action as these talented individuals strive to make their mark in the world of professional golf.

Following the qualifying school, the opening round of the Toyota Tour – the Tun Ahmad Sarji Trophy – will take place at the Saujana Golf & Country Club from Feb 27-29.

The scenic and challenging layout of the Tiara Melaka GCC comprises 27 holes and was designed by Neil Haworth of Nelson & Haworth Golf Course Architects.
