Current Toyota Tour leading money earner Ervin Chang returns with his fellow stars to continue where they left off when they tee it up in the penultimate leg, the Alphard Cup at the tricky layout of Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club starting here tomorrow.
Amir Nazrin, Galven Green, Paul San and Shahriffuddin Ariffin missed the Camry Cup at Forest City two weeks ago when they competed in a series of ADT events in Indonesia and the Asian Tour’s Macau Open as well as the International Series in Singapore.
Shahriffuddin performed creditably with a 14th place finish in Singapore, while Ervin was joint 37th.
However, Camry Cup winner Daeng Abdul Rahman and runner-up Kemarol Baharin should not be brushed off, going by their performances in the lengthy Legacy course of Forest City which measured 7,386 yards, not counting the windy conditions. The Kota Seriemas layout measures 6,944 yards so a low-scoring event will not be a surprise.
The Toyota Tour is organised by the Professional Golf Malaysia and delivered by MST Golf Group. The total prize fund at Kota Seriemas is RM210,000 which includes RM30,000 for the Ladies Championship.
Aretha Pan leads the ladies’ championship which has attracted nine participants including Geraldine Wong who chalked up her first victory at Forest City. Other talented players like Genevieve Ling, Dianne Luke and Jocelyn Chee are also competing for honours.
The 54-hole competition ends on Thursday afternoon.
Kota Seriemas GCC is part of the 2,400-acre Seriemas township developed by Seriemas Development Sendirian Berhad which is a subsidiary of PNB Development Sdn Bhd.
